ENCORE CERAMICS
Combines old-world artisanship and cutting-edge green innovation and is one of the leading manufacturers of artistic, distinctive tile. Any single Encore tile is handled by artisans 18 to 21 times on its journey to your home, and we truly believe the extra care and attention shows. First, the custom-formulated clay is extruded into blocks. The fresh clay is then pressed into designs. Next, the scrap is cut away by hand. After the design is put through the dryers, it is covered with up to 3 to 4 coats of hand-poured glaze. Multiple layers of top glaze are applied to the design. Then, the glazed Fredericksburg tiles are placed in the kiln. Inside of the kiln, the piece’s multiple layers of glaze melt, mix, and settle creating rich tones and artful variation. The newly fired product is now ready to be shipped.
